At least six dead in severe weather in eastern Brazil

Buenos Aires: At least six people have been killed in a severe storm in south-eastern Brazil.
Heavy rain caused the Iconha river in the state of Espirito Santo north of Rio de Janeiro to rise by around 4 metres, the TV station Globo reported on Sunday.
The floods swept cars away and brought down trees, electricity pylons and walls; Some houses also collapsed.
“It hurts to see the city where we grew up in this state,” said secretary Nazare Paganini, an eyewitness. “We ask for help so that we can get water, medication and food.” The towns of Iconha and Alfredo Chaves declared an emergency to gain access to resources from the regional and federal governments.
